Looking for someone with a range of experiences in the writing and marketing fields? Someone who possesses the skills and creativity to give your organization the exposure it deserves? You just found me. I have been involved in writing, editing, and marketing/public relations since 1996. I continue to focus on small businesses, agricultural businesses, and nonprofit organizations for my belief in their missions. My experience "on both sides of the desk"—as both a writer and a public relations/marketing professional—serves as a useful tool in reading the needs of the media and effectively working with them. With my assistance, my clients have been featured on television news and profile programs and in trade and consumer magazines and newspapers. On the internal- and business-communication front, I have crafted columns for organization executives, developed marketing and sales materials, written and designed newsletters, and assisted business leaders in constructing more professional, easy-to-digest communications. My byline has appeared in regional and national consumer and trade publications. I am regularly contacted by editors to write personality profiles, how-to articles, business-related features, and in-depth features. While I currently freelance my writing, editing, and marketing/public relations talents, I have experience working on staff with businesses and nonprofit organizations, including as the assistant editor/publications coordinator of a 33,000-member nonprofit organization, as the media manager with a marketing agency specializing in equestrian sports, and as the public relations coordinator of a nonprofit youth organization.
